How Vow handles account information, onboarding answers, on-device plans, Screen Time permissions, website signups, and privacy requests.

About this policy

This policy covers the Vow iPhone app, its account service, and vowrelease.scenedub.com. For questions about Vow and the handling of your information, contact the Vow team below. Privacy contact: dayyanwani765@gmail.com.

This notice describes the current app: guest access is available, account sign-in is optional, and cloud synchronization of plans and focus records is not enabled. Apple, Google, and other service providers also publish their own privacy information.

Information that stays on your device

Vow stores your tasks, goals, habits, routines, completion records, focus intentions and history, reflections, local profile edits, and app preferences on your iPhone. It uses these records to display your plan, run focus sessions, and show your progress. The current build does not upload these product records through cloud synchronization.

With your permission, Vow uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks to apply rules to selected apps, categories, and websites. Selection tokens, rules, and activity information needed for blocking are stored locally and shared with Vow's on-device extensions. Vow does not upload these selections or a browsing-history feed to its account service.

Session credentials and a guest identifier are stored in the iOS Keychain. Device backups are controlled by your Apple settings and can retain local information separately from Vow's servers. Focus notifications and Live Activities may display session information on your device or Lock Screen, depending on your settings.

Optional sign-in and onboarding information

If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, Vow receives the name and email address made available by that provider, a provider-specific account identifier, and authentication credentials. Apple may supply a private relay email address. Vow stores your account identity, creation/update timestamps, and session records to authenticate you, maintain your account, and support deletion. Vow does not receive your Apple or Google password.

Signing in also sends your onboarding answers to the Vow account service: your estimated screen time, selected distractions, difficult times of day, priorities, and chosen focus commitment. This includes any Adult content or Rest & health choice you selected. These answers are associated with your account and used for your starting plan and account experience. They are not a device browsing-history report or a medical diagnosis. Guest onboarding answers remain on the device.

Vow stores a hashed session token server-side. Apple authorization tokens needed for account management are encrypted at rest by the app service. Active session records expire after 30 days; database cleanup can occur after expiration. Account information and onboarding answers do not automatically expire with a session.

Service connections and security

App and website connections expose technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser or device headers, and requested paths to the servers that handle them. Vow's account service records operational errors, including sign-in error codes and request identifiers, to diagnose problems and protect the service. The app can contact the account service to check availability before you sign in, including when using guest access.

Google states that its sign-in SDK may collect a user identifier and IP address, including use of IP-derived general location for fraud prevention. Vow does not request GPS location.

Google Sign-In SDK disclosures

The Google Sign-In 9.2.0 SDK bundled with Vow declares collection of name, email address, phone number, coarse location, user identifiers, device identifiers, other usage data, and other data types. Its privacy manifest identifies these categories as linked to the user and not used for tracking.

The declared purposes are app functionality for name, email, phone number, and coarse location; app functionality and analytics for user identifiers and other data; and analytics for device identifiers and other usage data. These third-party analytics are separate from the progress charts Vow calculates locally. Vow's own account service does not request a phone number or GPS location.

These declarations describe the SDK, including processing by Google, rather than extra fields Vow asks you to enter. See the bundled SDK privacy manifest and Google Sign-In privacy guidance. Google manages its own retention and account controls; you can manage provider access through Privacy Choices.

Website launch list and support email

If you join the launch list, the website stores your email address, signup/update timestamps, signup source, browser user-agent, referring page, and a hash of your IP address. The email is used for the requested launch notification. Technical fields are used to validate requests and limit abusive signups. The IP hash is not treated as anonymous data. Signup records currently have no automatic expiry; you can request removal at any time.

If you email support, your sender address, message, and any attachments are processed in the support inbox to answer your question, troubleshoot, or handle your privacy request. Do not include passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary sensitive information. Website hosting also processes ordinary request information.

Service providers and disclosures

Vow uses Apple for platform services and Apple sign-in; Google for Google sign-in and the Gmail support inbox; Render for the account service; MongoDB Atlas for account and launch-list storage; and Vercel for website hosting and signup requests. Each receives information needed for its role. Their infrastructure may process information outside your country.

The current Vow app has no advertising SDK and does not implement cross-app advertising tracking or a sale of user data. Your plans and onboarding answers are not published to other users. Information may also need to be disclosed when legally required or to address security, fraud, or rights-related issues.

Provider privacy information: Apple, Google, Google Sign-In SDK, Render, MongoDB, and Vercel.

Retention and deletion

Local product records remain until you delete them or clear the relevant app data. Vow account records and onboarding answers remain in the account database until account deletion; there is no automatic inactive-account deletion in the current service. Account deletion removes the user record, associated Vow sessions, and any associated server sync records. It also attempts to revoke Apple authorization and clears local product data through the app's deletion flow.

Waitlist records and support correspondence are separate from the app account and may remain until separately removed. Ask us to delete these too if that is your intention. Hosting logs, email systems, and any provider backups can have separate retention and deletion cycles. Deletion of live records does not guarantee immediate removal from every backup or a device you control. Contact us for questions about retained records; applicable legal obligations may require limited retention.

Your choices and rights

You can use guest access, decline or revoke optional device permissions, delete your account in Profile > Account > Delete account, or email dayyanwani765@gmail.com about access, correction, deletion, or a copy of server-held information. We may request information needed to verify ownership, but never your password or verification codes.

Where applicable, processing is based on providing the service you request, your consent for optional features or launch emails, legitimate interests in security and support, and compliance with legal obligations. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or a complaint to a data-protection authority. Visit Privacy Choices for the available controls and request routes.

Children and sensitive information

Vow is a general-purpose productivity app, not a service specifically directed to children. An App Store age rating describes content suitability; it is not an age-verification system. If you are a parent or guardian concerned that a child has provided personal information, contact dayyanwani765@gmail.com so the account or records can be reviewed and deletion requested. Avoid including sensitive personal information in task names, reflections, or support messages unless necessary.

Policy updates

This page will be updated when Vow's data handling changes. The date at the top identifies the current notice. New data collection or uses that require your permission will require an appropriate notice or consent; publishing a policy update alone does not grant that permission.
